Features

What Runsten does with your car’s readings, in Free and in Plus: statistics, costs, Home Assistant, an AI assistant, and how it treats your data.

Beside the manufacturer’s app

Runsten charts what your car does over time, in Free too, over the last 30 days. Plus adds the costs and the CSV files, over the whole history.

30 days

A month at a glance

The car’s page sums up its last 30 days: distance, consumption, energy charged, and the distance of each day.

Day, week, month

Statistics by period

Distance, energy charged, consumption, and time driving and charging, by day, week or month.

0.3%/day

Loss while parked

The charge the car loses standing still, per day: telling over weeks.

18 trips

Trips by distance

How many of your trips are short or long, and what each length uses per kilometre.

20% → 80%

Charges by state of charge

The charge level your charges start at, and the one they end at.

Coming from Tesla? Dashboards like TeslaMate’s, for your car, without a server to run.

Plus

What your charging really costs

Neither the car nor its app says what a charge cost. Runsten works it out from your tariffs, place by place, off-peak hours and price changes included.

22:00–06:00

Off-peak hours, as in your contract

Time slots in local time, by day of the week and by season, for each place: home, work, the country house.

1 Feb → €0.27

Prices change, the history stays

A new price applies from its date: earlier charges keep the price they were paid at.

88%

Losses counted

The meter counts more than the battery takes in. Runsten estimates it, and shows the efficiency it applied.

€12.40

Public charging

Enter the amount on the receipt: it replaces the estimate.

Home Assistant, AI assistants and controls

Free and Plus

Home Assistant

Each car as a device in Home Assistant: battery, range, charging, doors, locks and position. Updated every hour on Free, in real time on Plus.

How to connect it →

Plus

Ask an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant reads your trips, charges and statistics, and answers in your words. It only reads, and never sees a position.

How to connect an assistant →

Plus

Your Tesla’s controls

Set the charge limit, start or stop a charge, turn the climate on at the temperature you want, lock or unlock, from the car’s page.

How to use them →

Figures you can trust

Runsten shows what it read, and when. It does not fill the gaps with guesses.

06:55–07:01 → 07:39–07:40

Times are ranges

The car is read every few minutes: a trip starts somewhere between two readings, and the page says so.

€5.24 – €5.79

A cost can be a range

When a charge may fall on either side of a change of price, both amounts are shown.

Your data, with care

Every reading kept

Every response of the car is kept as it came: when Runsten improves, the whole history is worked out again.

No map service

Positions are coordinates, with a link to OpenStreetMap you follow if you want. No map is loaded, so no one else learns where the car goes.

On a phone and a desktop

In English, French and Swedish, light or dark, and usable with the keyboard alone or a screen reader.

Your history from before (beta)

Import the trips and charges from before Runsten, once: from Aximote, with a Pro token erased as soon as the import ends, or from the files Volvo Cars gives you on its Data Portal (EU Data Act), with their tracks.
