Terms of use

1. The service

Runsten hosted (my.runsten.app) is an online service published by Akitek SRL (see the legal notice). With your consent, it reads your Volvo or Polestar car through the manufacturer's API, and keeps its readings. From them it works out trips, charges, their cost from the tariffs you enter, statistics and an estimate of the battery.

These terms apply to every account, free or paid. A paid subscription is also governed by the subscription terms.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• An account is personal. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if someone else may have used them.
• Only connect cars you are entitled to read: your own, or one whose Volvo ID holder has agreed. If other people drive the car, tell them that its trips and positions are recorded.
• You accept these terms when you sign up. We keep a record of the version you accepted and when.

3. The connection to Volvo

Runsten reads the car with your authorisation, given on the Volvo ID. You can withdraw it at any time, in Runsten or in your Volvo account: Runsten then stops reading the car, and what it has already read stays in your account.

Runsten depends on Volvo's API, which we do not control. It may be unavailable, limited in the number of calls, changed or stopped without notice. Readings may therefore be missing or late. Runsten shows it, but cannot prevent it.

4. What the figures are worth

• Runsten shows what it read, and when. Between two readings it knows nothing: times are ranges, and a trip made without a reading is reconstructed from the odometer.
• Costs, energies and the battery estimate are indicative calculations, made from the readings, the data sheet of the model and the tariffs you enter. They replace neither an invoice nor a diagnosis by the manufacturer.
• Do not rely on Runsten for a safety decision (range left before a trip, state of the car): the car and the manufacturer prevail.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Runsten to track a person without their knowledge, nor for anything unlawful. Do not try to reach the data of another account, to get around the limits of the service, or to overload it.

6. Your data

• Your data remains yours. You allow us to process it only to provide you with the service. We do not sell it, show it to anyone, or use it for advertising.
• You can export all of it at any time, and delete your account.
• The details are in the privacy policy.

7. Availability and changes

We do our best to keep the service available, without being able to guarantee it. It may be interrupted for maintenance, with notice in the application when possible. Its features may change. Those of a paid plan are not removed during a period already paid for.

8. Suspension and end of the account

• You can delete your account at any time, in the settings. It is erased with its data, and a running subscription is cancelled.
• We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms, after telling you when possible. Otherwise, we give you at least 30 days' notice.
• If the service closes, we give you at least 60 days' notice, let you export your data, and refund the unused part of a subscription.
• An account with no sign-in for 24 months is deleted, after an email 30 days before.

9. Liability

Akitek SRL is liable for damage caused by its own fault in providing the service. It is not liable for the unavailability or errors of Volvo's API, nor for decisions taken on the basis of Runsten's indicative calculations. For a paid account, its liability is limited to the amounts paid over the last 12 months.

These limits do not apply to intentional or gross misconduct, nor to the rights the law guarantees you as a consumer, which remain whole.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms substantially, we tell you by email 30 days before. You are asked to accept the new version at your next sign-in. If you refuse it, you can delete your account and export your data.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

In case of disagreement, write to support@runsten.app first. Without a solution, you can turn, free of charge, to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (mediationconsommateur.be), or to the competent courts.
