Troubleshooting
The Connection page, in the menu under your name, tells whether Runsten reads your cars, and if not, why. A dot by your name says it needs your attention, and every page of a car warns when nothing new is read of it.
Not available yet
Runsten is in development: my.runsten.app does not open yet. This is how it will work.
Nothing new is read
What the Connection page says of the car, and what to do:
- Not read: no Volvo key given. Create your key and paste it on the Connection page: see your Volvo key.
- Not read: Volvo refused the application key. The key was regenerated, or its application deleted on the developer portal. Copy the primary key of your application again, or create a new application, then Replace the key on the Connection page. The Volvo ID stays connected: no need to connect it again.
- Re-authentication required. Volvo's authorization ended (it lasts 6 months at most) or was withdrawn: Reconnect the Volvo ID. Nothing already read is lost.
- Volvo quota reached. Your key's calls for the day are used up. Reading resumes by itself when Volvo renews the quota, and the trips and charges missed meanwhile are found afterwards, marked as reconstructed. Another app reading with the same key spends the same quota: give it a key of its own.
- Paused by Volvo. Volvo limited the number of calls for a while. Reading resumes by itself.
- Not read with your offer. Free reads one car, Plus up to 5: the others keep what was read of them. See the Offer page.
- Reading interrupted on our side. An incident at Runsten: it resumes by itself once fixed, and what was read stays. The service status follows it.
Connecting the Volvo ID
- The Volvo ID is connected, but no car is listed. Volvo refused the key: give a new one on the Connection page. The cars are listed then, without connecting again.
- Your Volvo ID gives access to more vehicles than your account may have. Runsten hosted reads up to 5 cars per account: a Volvo ID with more is not connected. Write to us.
- A car is missing. Runsten sees the cars of the Volvo ID you connected: those the Volvo Cars app shows with the same Volvo ID.
Times are wide
Runsten sees the car only when it reads it: a trip started somewhere between two readings, and shows as a range. Free reads every hour, so its ranges are wider; Plus reads every minute while the car drives or charges. See trips and charges.
Still stuck
Write to support@runsten.app, with the name of the car and what the Connection page says. Never send your Volvo key, your password, or an access token.
